I loved the pattern and the colors you chose.
I will look in my books to see what the name
of the pattern is. You should be proud of this one.

Make sure to put a label on it too with information and a date on it too. That is very pretty.

Because the diamonds were larger, i was able to machine piece it - even the Y-seams of the block.

It is full of optical illusions - i've had fun staring at it!!

I saw my mom today- we had lunch and when i dumped the bag of diamond shapes, I found an 8" churn dash block that she made. I framed it w/ the story on the back.

My mom then asked me if there were other pieces.....I lied  :!: :XD: and said no......I wonder if she remembers there really was a bag w/ diamond shapes???? I did show them to her about 9 or 10 yrs ago when my aunt gave me this stuff....

    Hope not....but won't she be surprised!! :D

And the label will have the story!!! That's the icing on the cake - the story!!

Several years ago, my aunt gave me a bag w/ all these diamonds and i had intended to complete the tumbling block quilt. Last summer, I found this pattern that i like because it features all the vintage fabrics much better.

My plan is to give this to my mom in June when my sister comes in for a visit. Good thing mom doesn't hang on message boards because this will be a total surprise
What a beautiful Quilt!! She will love it!!!
