I want to make a Turning Twenty Quilt
#46
It would be very pretty; but also nice if you chose another color to accent it. I saw black/white with some yellow at the quilt show and it was very attractive; but any bright color adds a great touch....red, lime green, pink, purple, cobalt blue, orange etc.

[quote=leonajo]I am doing a Turning Twenty now. I am VERY disapointed with it. It is easy but felt like I could have used my fabric on a better pattern. The blocks r just to big....
Try the Tiny Turning Twenty next time. It's the same pattern, but the block size is greatly reduced and turns out very nice.

I agree! My friend and I took hours picking out the "just right" colors for my Turning Twenty. I cut the fabric laid it out and thought how big the blocks looked and for whatever reason thought they would look better after I pieced them. Oddly, it seemed like they got bigger!! I use the quilt, but I know I won't make the pattern again unless I got creative and made like three blocks out of the original one using more colors. Oh my gosh then I guess I'd have a Sewing Sixty! And since I'm going to be 60 this year......hmmmmm......might have to give it a shot!

I have almost finished a variation of Turning Twenty quilt that has 80 blocks made from 20 fat quarters. Each block is about 8 inches finished. I think it is a lot more interesting than the one with the large blocks. You can find variations of the old stand by in one of Tricia Cribbs books if you don't like the really big blocks.
