Somehow you managed to create a very masculine looking quilting studio.
    More power to 'ya!!
Great looking! And very tidy. 8-)

I am afraid though that your OSB might bow since it is hanging out over the edge of your island so far. OSB is made of soft woods is known to bend after a while w/o being supported.

I made my own Big Board to lay on top of my ironing board for ironing yardages of fabric. I made the board out of 1/2" Baltic Birch plywood 20 x 60". I then covered with 2 layers of warm and natural batting, then a layer of regular muslin. Then finished off with the silver sided fabric. All this was stapled to the back of the board so it was all snug and smooth surface. This sits on top of my ironing board all the time for ironing, pressing, a work surface, etc.
    I love it.

What you can't see if that the old counter top is acctually still under the OSB. :) I just put the OSB on top and then used my nail gun to secure to the OSB to the current formica countertop that was there. So the end of the old countertop is acctually flush to the end of the OSB board. The side hang about 2 1/2 inches over the old countertop on the sides. So bowing hasn't be an issue for me. But yes, if I hadn't kept the formica it wouldn't have worked. ;)

It stands for Oriented Strand Board - Basically it's a really inexpensive type of plywood.

What is the silver sided material you used?
Is it the same as Insulbrite? Or something else?

Had that happen, found 3 kittens in my batting. But I have an old pooltable as a base and put an 8x4 board on top as a cutting table. Ofcourse you can only do that in Hawaii and I have it in my Patio set up. I also use old Iceboxes for storage of materials ect. I like your room a lot, now I am trying to figure out how to make my OPEN patio like that! 0:)
