Love the colors. Reminds me of the mariner's compass in the Elm Creek Quilt book. Someday i'll be a confident enougj piecer for something like that. Not yet though.

I love the quilt pattern and your Color choices are awesome. I'm really curious about how you used MS Paint to do your mock up with the different colors.

Your color selections are fabulous. I think the pattern is so awesome and looks difficult and time consuming, but well worth every moment you put into it. I can hardly wait to see the results.

I saved the picture of the quilt from the pattern to a black and white one. Have the picture on your screen, right click, Save As... I opened it with Windows Live Photo Gallery and at the top it has "Edit, organize, or share". Select "Effects" at the top... Black and White.

Open it in MS Paint and pasted the pictures of the fabric on the side. I get the fabric pictures online when I order by doing a right click on the fabric on my screen and doing a Save As... or just do Copy and then Paste it.

I then use the Eye Dropper tool to pick up the color in a fabric and then use the line tool, pencil tool, paint brush tool, or circle tool. It's not the quickest way to do it but, it's just something to do while idle, watching TV, etc.

To paste in the focal fabric I used the Select tool, outlined an area on the fabric, then copied and pasted it onto the quilt.
