I'm sorry there is no pattern. What I do is enlarge the photo using a standard projector. Then I trace the position of the slopes rocks and river. If you don't have a projector most stationary stores like Staples can enlarge it for you. Feel free to print out the photograph.

I follow your progress on your blog and am still amazed when I see the finished product. As someone else mentioned, I wish I could take a class from you but maybe really studying your blog postings will help to learn this process ... and experimentation and practice too obviously.
