    If Granny is losing her sight (as my mother is) I would select the purple and white because of the high contrast.

    My mother is about the same age as your granny.
    I think that those darker colors with light for your nine patch ... would encourage her to USE it.
    If you make it too pristine, she will SAVE it for ??? who knows <g> <wave>

    I read through this whole thread just knowing you had picked & started already - lol!
    I was all set to tell you to choose "b", but then I read your comment about the colourful, old, scrappy afghan on the back of her couch - and it was a no-brainer -definitely
    "d"!
