This is an absolutely gorgeous quilt!!! What a lucky couple to receive this as a gift!!!!!

I quilted it with a whole-cloth mentality because I felt it would be better than trying to follow the lines of the quilt. So I created big daisies with blue and purple thread in my bobbin, and closed in the open spaces with vines and leaves in a green thread, keeping black on the top throughout the entire project. The quilt is not completed; Mr. Lockwood made a throw sized quilt and extrapolated to find the dimensions in a queen sized quilt without actually making it. With the borders he calls for, it may well be the finished dimensions he quoted, but it's more of a king sized quilt than a queen. The quilt touches the floor on my queen sized bed if I put the blue points vertical. So I switched the quilt on the bed, and the sides were almost touching the floor, while the opposite sides of the quilt were a little short. This explains the black borders on two sides only. However, it's not noticeable, and makes the finished quilt 100.5x107.5, which is the largest quilt I've ever made yet. I quilted their names and wedding date on the reverse of the quilt to make it special for them. Hope you enjoy it too! I can't wait to give it to them.

I am in the process of doing one of his quilts also. I hope it comes out as great as yours is. I,m doing Mystic Nights by Derrick Lockwood. I only have about 30 rows done now on 2 sections.(still have a long way to go, but am loving it so far.
They will love the quilt, I am sure.
