The other that I could consider is a TINY blue/dark blue check. (And is one of the materials in the quilt already). I wouldn't usually think about using a check for the border...but since it's 2 shades of dk. blue and it's so very tiny...I think it would still be okay. Any thoughts?
I'm trying to pick out the fabric you mean by looking at your quilt. Can you post a picture showing the one you mean?

I have "just" enough blue paisley for the border but I'm not sure it's the way to go.

The blue paisley is the way to go; look at your picture, the blue and white makes all the other blocks pop. Great choice, don't change it.

That is a lovely quilt! It's cozy country! I like darker blue for a border... but I know you don't have any left. Solids are inexpensive!

It is hard to see the checks but I like this one best of the ones shown & would go with it. But I think I'd bind it with the red you used for the small squares.
