I would don't think I'd add another border, ending with the red and then the paisley for the binding. I've been amazed at how nice strong patterns look on the binding of a couple of my quilts. Now I intentionally look for strong pattern or "ugly" fabric for bindings. Adds a fund quirk.

I like the idea of dark blue with tiny check and bind in red. This quilt will get lots of use and will be washed often. Sometimes just plain colors get faded in the border. The tiny print would not show the fade so much. Terrific job with this pattern.

Gorgeous! That rustic red really sets it off. I agree with dark blue for the border. I think I might do a narrow inner border of a light color (or pieced from a bunch of light stripes and plaids) first.
