Your quilt is gorgeous. I am sad you allowed this opinionated know it all, who, in all likelyhood, couldn't thread a needle let alone create such a work of art steal your joy. Don't let it happen again. Next time someone tries to steal your joy simply smile and tell them they are entitled to their opinion but not entitled to infect or inflict you with it.

The poor guy probably remembers how his mother or grandmother struggled to make a quilt with scraps of all kinds of fabric and remembered them with very loving care. I'm sure he meant well and he probably would have hugged you, too - maybe.
    Consider yourself hugged.

    HUGS!!!!!!! Your quilt is beautiful.
Not to stick up for the old guy but maybe he was remembering his wife or mother who used to make quilts that way. Anyway he should keep his opinions to himslef.

I agree, its a beautiful quilt and you should have not let that old man run you out although I also know its a lot easier for us to say than do. I am a sensitive person and I probably would have done the same or got mad. tee hee and yah people used to walk to school barefoot in the winter 10 miles that didn't make them smart either. So ignore him. Thats a beautiful quilt you have nothing to feel bad about.

    Love it.

I think that was one unhappy human being. I wouldn't listen to a work he said.

It's beautiful!!!!! It really is gorgeous and I'd love to make one just like it. Maybe someday...

Don't let the killjoys of this world ruin your day. What a loser (the man). I can imagine how his family must love to have him around.

Your quilt is beautiful. And you should never let anyone make you feel small. Only you can do that. Old people are funny. When they hit a certain age they go back into their lives and that was the only way things were - the right way. You should have tried to engage him in conversation. He might have liked that and changed his tune. Just saying.
