Ha-HA!! That's a good example of a thing that we have all done at least once!! I LOVE that fabric for curtains!! Very stylish...and I like the idea of adding solid at the bottom..and you would run it up the inside edge, also. That's is very designer-ish!! :-)

That is so nice of you to share. My dufus idea involved making a skirt into a pair of shorts. I was about twelve and trying to sew so I could prove to my dad that I could sew too! (He made all of my doll clothes when I was little.) Did you know that if you take a full skirt and just sew a "V" up the middle, it will not work? I didn't, but everyone had a good laugh. Go for the designer look.

Thanks for the elastic idea! I'll try that. I did indeed make a rod pocket at the top.
It looks like there's a large hem, but there isn't. It's a line in the fabric design itself.
Eventually I'll add some navy blue or red to the bottom to fix it. But for now, there's a rocking chair in front of it and I'm busy working on charity quilts. Besides, it makes me giggle every time I look at them! LOL
I'm so glad I was able to share the amusement. It really does make me laugh.
