I'm a "ditcher" too since I don't do FMQ. Question: When you do the almost-in-the-ditch, do you stitch on the seam side or the lower side? By the seam side, I mean the side to which the seam is presssed.

Same here - I think Stitch in the Ditch is just something to shoot for! Not something that any really does!. The great thing is that once you wash it you won't see any of that thread, it will just mostly disappear into the shrinkage/poof factor.

I do the same thing, but I think the foot I use (generic low shank foot bought at JoAnn's) is called a blind hem foot. I, too, spread the seam apart and stitch on the single fabric side (not on the side the seam allowance is pressed to). Hope this helps.

Just tell them that you have struggled so long in life to stay out of the ditches that you decided you didn't want to go there with quilting either!

This is for a baby! (and her parents...) but as long as it's stitched with the minimal stitching (so the batting stays put) for multiple washings (remember it's for a baby!!!) then don't worry about veering off the seam/ditch here and there.

Love the colors. Nice back, too.

Emmaline will be wrapped in love.
