I love the quilt. It is modern yet traditional all in one.

Lol! Your quilt is lovely and I love the backing - I'm not a lover of pastels for babies. No one is going to notice the stitching. For me, SITD is harder than a simple meander.

I have one of those too, but still have trouble with SITD. I consistently use a low-loft batting though, and think a higher loft batting would probably give better results. On my next project, I'm going to slooooow down as others here have suggested. I have a tendency to speed up as I go along, particularly in a long stretch of a ditch.

If I'm quilting I have to use a walking foot so unless there's a special SITD foot that is also a walking foot that wouldn't help me anyway. Now I can use a walking SITD foot since I have a machine with a built in walking foot but I have read some negative reviews about it.

I called it stitch near the ditch. I went to SID around my border and realized that it was on the side and just went with it on my last quilt. I wonder how it would look to go back and stitch on the other side of the ditch too? Someday I'm going to try it.

There is a foot for my machine that has (the opposite) of a groove, and it fits right in the ditch so you can't miss. I love it. I can STID now and it looks like I know what I am doing
