Mamabird3, the border is great! It looks like the butterflies were a lot of fun.

I'm working on our Christmas quilt for Peace and Joy. I've had a very hard time figuring out how to get the sizing correct for the pieced border to come out an equal 5 inches. I've played with a lot of options and finally got a solution figured out. I think. Stand by. I'll holler if I need help!

Sounds like a plan Teacup....remember ladies...you can add a 1" border, then add a 4" border to make up the 5"...or a 2" & 3"....and so on. It makes it easier to figure out the math.

I SOOO did not know this!! Thank you for the tip. At a sewing day for our guild today, I was talking with a friend about this IRR while looking at the Keepsake Quilting catalog she was kind ( ) enough to bring. There was a quilt that I really liked the border on, which lead to the conversation.

Anyhow, I was telling her that trying to figure out the measurements for a pieced border was challenging. So it's good to know that I could also take this route.

Good luck, Teacup! We're all learning and trying new things. I know that this is going to be a special quilt for me, knowing that people from all over have worked on it.

OK....I did put that info in the original packets, but I can tell that most..well, many...well, maybe some of you are like me and you don't read the directions. So...I will post on each thread just to make sure everyone knows that you can add multiple borders to make up the size required for that round

Ladies....just a reminder that will apply to ALL the rounds. You MAY use multiple borders to make up the size required for that round. For instance....you can add a 2" and a 3" to make the 5" border, or you could use a 1" and a 4"...and so on. This can be done for ALL the rounds and it makes figuring out the math easier for those "odd" sizes.

Next mailing is 15 Feb....don't forget your postcards/FQ's if you group is enclosing them! As alway, if you are having trouble or a problem...holler at your point person or me... Have FUN!!
