Patti, I'm having trouble. Now that I have the blocks all made, I don't like how they are going together. (Heavy sigh). I have to see if I can salvage it, or if I need to start completely over.

OK, I've slept on it, and my idea is definitely not going to work. Well, it may work, but it won't look good. Back to the drawing board. I think that what is needed is a very plain border to set off JoeAnn's incredible work, so plain it will be. I just looked and noticed that I had the PERFECT material to make a kaleidoscope border like you did for mine, but there's no time, and like I said, I think simple is the way to go. So now I have 16 orphan blocks to make into a DQ. Sigh.

Thanks everyone!!!! It was fun and much easier than I thought, especially with k's help!

Gai...send me a pic of what you were thinking...maybe you are being too quick to judge, although I know its hard to follow Joe Anne's beautiful work...(awwwww...sigh......so pretty!!)

Well, I still like the idea, but it just won't work next to JoeAnn's border. And the more I look at it, the more I think that I was just stuck in the mindset of not wanting to do a "simple" border, when that is really what it needs at this point. Maybe my idea would have worked if I had used a different background, but I didn't, so....

My original idea was that your bear paws looked like birds, so I would make little ones that swooped around the edges carrying ribbon in their "beaks" that would make heart designs. Here is one I did to test the idea. I have different colors of bias tape, but the green is what I grabbed for the test block. But it just doesn't look good next to JoeAnn's border. However, I think I have a great print that would look good as a simple border. My little brain is working......
