Default Isabel's Dresden & Old Lace

My granddaughter helped me when I demonstrated how to do a Dresden block one month at the International Quilt Study Center & Museum here in Lincoln Nebraska. She had so much fun with the demo, she dug through the stash I had brought and found 2 fabrics which coordinated (and she didn't like) and by the end of the day, she had done a complete block. On the way home we stopped by my house and grabbed some muslin, and an old lace curtain. A few days later, she quilted the block onto the layered muslin/lace top. Shortly after she did the quilting of the "rays". Then she did the binding. This is her first quilt. It is so pretty! Oh, and BTW - she now loves it, despite the fabrics not being all bright and teen looking. Here you can see it hanging in the Lincoln Quilters Guild Show earlier this month.

What a fun way to finish the block--she will always remember the time she spent with you and the quilt she created. Nice work!
