Default ISpy Quilts and gift requested by my mom

I joined Yosamitesa's 6.5" novelty square swap so I could collect for a few ISpy quilts I wanted to make for Christmas.

The first was for my baby niece. I tried to use my girly squares and I backed it in a cute purple flannel. I did SID on the triangles and one in the center.

The second was for my nephews, so I tried to use my MANLY squares. I just did a wavy stitch down the green trim on this one. (Son as Model...bonus)

The last pic is an ironing board my mom requested. She wanted a 12" square little thing to put next to her machine. Lowe's cut my board into 12" pieces. I covered it in denim then a $5.00 ironing board cover went over that. I figure I made four little boards for under $15.00. Mom says she LOVES hers. It's already been put to good use. That little iron was my grandmas. It still has a cloth power cord.

Great I Spy's ... I like your HST with the light/dark placements. A good idea to break from all squares. Also, your green stripes on the "manly" I Spy!

I'm starting to collect for an I Spy quilt and unsure what size I want to use ..... what size of blocks did you use for both?

You look at it usually with your child and "spy" items. "I spy a little puppy" and the other person finds it. Is that clear as mud? They're great learning tools or a fun way to pass time.

If you look at all the fabrics used in the quilt, they each have a different item to look at. A piece has crayons, a piece has hats, and so on. You can play a game looking for the different items on the quilt. That way the quilt will keep the the kids busy and warm.
