    I was thinking of a Christmas tree wall hanging.
    It could be made of strips of different color Christmas fabric with a neutral background...

    No, actually, I don't think it is too early to start thinking about Christmas. Anything that I am going to make as a Xmas gift has to be done during the summer. Once I get back in the classroom in the fall, gifts will not be done. I think you are very smart to be thinking ahead.
