It's a mess, but it's done. Sigh

I think it looks fine and he is gonna love it. Smart little fellow. My 6yr old GD will always say something like "MeMaw, you think we could make me a quilt out of this or I like this wouldn't it make a pretty dress?" Followed by the batting of her sky blue eyes. Yep, you guessed it, off to the cutting table we go. She also will do that in the hobby rooms when she looks thru my stash. But she's our only grand child and I'd doing almost anything she asks. DH "PawPaw" spoils her worse than me, but is always saying how much I spoil her. Sorry, this is about your beautiful quilt, not my DGD. I bet he will enjoy it and treasure it for a long time!

Country1: Loved hearing about your granddaughter. We have two grandsons - one is 5 and one is six - one from each of our children. Our son is probably through adding to our grandchildren treasures, but I know our daughter is thinking about another one. She moved two weeks ago and when I was helping her unpack I found not one, but two bottles of prenatal vitamins. Her son is 5 so they're not leftovers. So ... don't know when it will be, but know it's in the planning stages anyway!
The pattern is Two's Company from Kariepatch designs. I wrote the designer, Karen DuMont, about the error in the pattern and quickly got the most gracious reply. We agree that most people make the smaller versions included in the pattern and not the bed sized ones. If you make the twin, just make it 6X7 rows instead of the 7X6 listed in the pattern. It works.
