    Wow! I have my great grandmother's treadle and I haven't opened it up in ages! I have her 'next' machine and cabinet. I took the machine out and put my Elna in it years ago. I really ought to get them both out and look at them!

    You should -it's kind of fun to see what you have! My mom is going to use my old Singer for mending (it's in her room), so it will get used after all these years of being closed up and wondering when we'd open the top and say "Hello!"

    nice !!!makes me think...i should open mine up as well...have had it for years...bought it from the original owner and it is supposed to work like a charm....she really took good care of it...now to bring it out of the corner....hmmm

    We may start a trend - unearthing the old reliable machines that were replaced with all the new fangled ones! My mom said they came out with electric sewing machines the year she was born - 1925.
