If you don't mind, how did you get a 1908 made in Prussia--USA or
    Europe?

    Just curious.

You should maybe ask her about it BEFORE she comes! If it doesn't really mean that much to her, maybe you could trade her something for it:)

What are YOU doing up so early? I woke up at 3:38 and couldn't go back to sleep, so finally got out of bed at about 5. I have my weekly quilt ministry at church this morning, so I figured I may as well get an early start!

I looked at it when I bought it, but since it was a treadle, and missing the belt, I just never thought about it. SO . . . here's what I have had hidden all these years

When I purchased my treadle machine it was missing the belt. My local Bernina dealer had the leather belts in stock! I've also heard that one woman was missing parts and her local Singer dealer had the parts needed for her machine.

My presser foot is metal - looks pretty sturdy!

If you go to this website, it has a list of the places where Singers were manufactured according to the first letter on the serial number. Mine begins with "H" so it was made in New Jersey:)
