Jackie Reis - A Tribute
We got word today that a quilt designer and charter member of our guild in Lubbock had passed away in Dallas this week. Jackie Reis was a math and drafting genius. Her patterns and instructions were made so that seams all nested perfectly. Her "Tessellated Texas" pattern is on my to do list waiting for an increase in my piecing skills.
The quilt pictured was just finished as a "Little House on the Prairie" quilt for the Bible Camp quilt auction and is tied. Jackie's pattern for it is called "Nine Patch Blessings". I made the same pattern last year and posted the quilt on the board. That quilt was given to my sister to use on her granddaughters' bed (they love Laura) when they visit.
Today I am reflecting on the contributions Jackie made to our community and the quilting community-at-large. I hope you enjoy this quilt.
