This became a UFO..I had designed and made the top for a friend of mine..right before I was going to quilt it..she died..so I had put in away..it's been 2 years..want to finish it and maybe give it to her Grandaughter! Would that be appropriate..what if she doesn't like Ducks?

I'm sure she'll love it even if ducks aren't her favorite. The colors are nice together and it was supposed to be her grandmother's.

It's a lovely, peaceful scene and hopefully she will remember her grandmother with love when she sees it.

Thank you..I know she took the Chenille rug.. I had made for her Grandmother's guest room ..that matched the center piece in the quilt..so I think it will be ok!!

I would talk to the grand-daughter. I know how disappointed my Mother is that my son and daughter-in-law dislike their wedding gift--a double sided quilt!! It is beautiful but my daughter-in-law prefers mostly monochromatics and dislikes florals. She doesn't display the cross stitch, professionally framed seascape I made either. She doesn't appreciate stuff homemade. She looks at it as a cheap way out. (little does she know!) I can't believe they did not even put in the spare bedroom. At any rate, I would want your quilt loved! Just a thought....

If you explain that it was for her grandmother I'm sure she'll love it. I think you did a great job on this quilt. I can understand why you put it away.
