Hi Penny, not difficult just a bit time consuming. Now doing them on the sewing machine as I have mastered the tecnique now.

    Elle:
By the way, I like the first layout, much more contrast. Just love this and will take a look at her site. I have a website that I order my Japanese fabrics from. This week I will take a picture of the crane panel and the moon over the mountains panels that I ordered. She does ship international too. She is where I brought the coy fish fabric I used in my son and DDIL's tablerunner. I will post the site with the pictures sometime this week.

I am leaning towards the first layout.

Thanks everyone, I had a look today at the PP for the border and Ooops it does look a tad forbidding, but I will give it my best shot. There are a lot of curved edges. I also want to make the quilt bigger than the original, so thining, thinking at the moment.

Okay a little more progress for you. The first border is on and now working on the corner blocks for the 2nd border. Fairly difficult. Plodding

Oh Elle that is looking amazing! I love how you're doing the borders. Are you still hand sewing? :D

Thanks Kathryn I am quite pleased with how its turning out. Nope I gaveup the hand sewing once I got the hang of how it all went together, I think I did 7 fans hand sewn the rest went together so fast when I used the machine. The corner blocks are giving me problems though. On two of the corner blocks you need to start in the centre and work outwards on the PP, I canīt get my head round it, keep putting the fabric on the wrong way round. LOL I canīt reverse a car either :D :D
