    I was reading yesterday and decided to make this finished the top last nite and I am thinking about using this lime green smooth minky to back for a baby for texture and will not have to add batting it is very heavy with the backing opnions please . first pic posted on board for quilts :?:

    Anything lime green gets my vote!
    The top is adorable.

    You don't HAVE to put a batting in for this baby quilt.
    Your choice.

    I just finished my first minky quilt, didn't use batting, and the quilting stitches look kind of embedded - really cool effect! On my quilt tho I did some basic whipstitches (I prefer this to tying a quilt as I don't care for the yarn knots sticking out all over the place) and it turned out quite well. Your quilt looks great! Very happy colors!
