    Cute bag. I like the idea of flannel for the batting - am making a tote for a granddaughter (12) and was wondering what I should use. Thanks for the suggestion.

    Yes, I have used flannel too. I don't like the bulk of batting in some bags. Sometimes I just use an interfacing to give it the added body. As far as making a bag for a 12 year old, let her pick out the fabric, unless it is a surprise. They love to have input into our projects. I helped my 9 GD make a purse last week, which she loves. She brought me a note on 8x11 paper thanking me for helping her and that she loved spending time with me. It is center stage on my refrigerator. How great is that!!!
