I love the bright fabrics set off by the black too and the varigated thread is the crowning touch. If I were Jimmy I'd be seriously concerned whether I'd be receiving this quilt or not.

Hello all! Thanks for the kind comments.

To answer a couple of questions: The thread is King Tut "Joseph's Coat." We used the same thread top and bobbin.

The backing fabric is from Exclusively Quilters and Favorite Fabrics posted about it here in 2009: http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-25318-1.htm . This should have only been available at a LQS, but we found it on a clearance table at Hancock's. Maybe they bought it as overstock or something. We were very impressed with how soft it is and I wish we had bought 10 yards of it.

I'll try to remember to take a camera when we give the quilt.

    Thanks again,

    Darren

Love your rich colors. What fabric is the backing?

Stunning quilt - I too think I would forget to take it to your friend. Maybe make a quick one and give it to him later. You did a great job on this. Love the bright colors on black. Buthen anything looks good on black or white background. Black really makes it POP!!
