I love scrappy quilts and this is a beauty. Thanks for letting us see it.

Now that's a scrappy I like! It's very...uh HANDSOME. (I was going to say beautiful, but figured Joey would want his quilt to be manly. LOL MV)

Wow thanks so much everyone! I'm pretty pleased with it, especially since it just evolved and made from scraps, I feel like it hardly cost a thing! (well, wadding, backing, border fabric, the red and cream yardage, thread etc - but you know what I mean! LOL)

Karla - I cut scraps into strips of 1 1/2" or squares of 2 1/2" like here (these coordinate well with charm squares of 5"). Anything around fat 1/8th size or bigger, I leave as is and store in a plastic crate. And really small scraps, of 1" up to 2 1/2", are stored in three tubs sorted into light, medium and dark (kind of! LOL). These I use for applique, crumb blocks or I let the kids mess with them, ermmm, SORT them out for me!

Gai - he DID look a bit askance at the few scraps of pink in there - but I told him it wasn't pink, it was raspberry, then he said 'oh, ok!' LOL

Well, you can tell him I just went back to check VERY carefully, and (as usual) Mom is correct: those are raspberry, not pink. And trust me, I know raspberries! They are my favorite fruit!
    :P :P :P   ;-)

it's a shame I can't send you some - we had a glut last year and the freezer is still groaning with them! I even made sorbet, but I think it would melt in the mail! I love the taste of them but don't like the pips, get stuck in the teeth!

You are a MEAN, CRUEL woman!!! :hunf: :hunf: My grandfather used to do that. He would call and say "I just picked 20 quarts of raspberries that are big enough to fit over the top of your thumb". When I would tell him what a mean old man he was, he would just laugh and laugh!!!!

But thanks for thinking of me. I'll pretend you sent me some anyhow! It is the thought that counts, isn't it?!! :P :P
