From one ranch/farm quilter to another....that is a beautiful quilt!! Is there a pattern for it, or did you devise your own pattern? I'd like to make a wall hanging for our entry way. JD equipment is my husband's passion.

There is no pattern for it, because it is a random sew and flip, as in a crazy quilt. I start with a 10" square of old sheeting fabric as stabilizer and place the focus fabric in the center. The focus fabric has been cut into a piece with 5 or more straight sides. The cut depends on the print, but there is nothing magic about how you cut it. Then scrap fabric strips are sewn onto the edges and pressed, adding more until you have covered the stabilizer. I then sandwich the block with batting and backing and stitch in the ditch. The block is trimmed to 9.5" and attached using QAYG. The John Deere quilt is on point, but I frequently make this type quilt with traditional straight rows. Because of the 80/20 batting and the stabilizer, the quilt is rather heavy. I think it would hang nicely as a wall hanging.
