    Default JoJo's Circus (part II)

JoJo's Circus was a gift to my niece, Joelle. It was inspired by her athleticism, love for animals, sewing, and the many other interests she chooses to pursue. I also think we all have our own circus'.

This is the first sewing project I have worked on with my mother in 25 years. (Another circus, but that's another story.) The quilt top pattern is "Moving Out" from the book "Strip easy" by Christiane Meunier. The top was constructed of batiks (purchased from thousandsofbolts.com) I added to the quilt on top and bottom to fill it out to a twin size. Long-arm quilting by Juli Meeks, Waukesha, WI.

I did not pre-wash the fabric. Bold move. Well, for me. The quilt was sandwiched and bound and then washed with 3 sheets of "Color Grabbers." I did _not_ want the dye to run and it didn't!

What's the plural of Circus? Circii? Well, Happy Circus' !!! Thanks for looking!

Very stunning Kate! And I liked the history you shared about the quilt. I love your part of Wisconsin. I visit from La Crosse every chance I get. Mary

    Kate,

I love the 'motion' and 'secondary' patterns in this quilt - great color choices!
