Just About Finished Omigosh Quilt!!
#133
Love your quilt - WOW! You can finish it yourself, prove it to yourself! It is difficult to cut long narrow strips if your table isn't long enough. I fold my quilt lengthwise, lay it on my table, unfold one side using my ironing board as an extention of my table & drape the excess over a chair, then carefully fold the strips & quilt as I get near the ironing board. If I vacuumed that day, I lay it on the floor on top of a king sized sheet to keep it clean & cut the strips I need. Hope this helps. Looking forward to seeing it finished. Remember to post!

This is an amazing quilt. But to the point about the borders. I think if I were to add borders and I planned to do multiples, I would make strips with each border you want, then add another etc. Not joining the ends. Then I would miter all the borders together. I am not sure that made sense. I just mean if you start with white, then go for a color then follow with white, I would sew these 3 colors together. Then attach to the quilt then miter all together. I also think if it is too heavy to manipulate through the machine, I would try doing it by hand. I did find that using a really big table--my dining table made a huge difference. I could put all my quilt on it and then the weight wasn't on the needle, or other places that made it impossible to work on.

I saw your wonderful quilt on pinterest.com I didn't realize how old this thread was but, did you finish the quilt? You were asking about borders and my first thought was "no" I don't think the quilt needs borders maybe a dark or medium color binding.
If it's done would you post a picture?
