That's a great wall hanging, thanks for sharing! My daughter just asked me to re-hem one of her dresses (yuck) and to fix a fleece blanket a friend made for her that is coming apart at the seams. I told her I would try, didn't say how long it would take me

It's a great sign. I've been lucky and not really had anyone but DH and DS ask me to fix things.
At least when my MIL asked me to fix something, it was to actually finish a quilt her mother had started years ago. It was a scrap quilt and there were parts already pieced, and I had to match them together (out of old clothes, including polyester). It actually came out nicely. I made a king size quilt and a king size pillow - one section was pieced by her mother and would not play well with the other sections. All of it was fell seamed and I did not want to rip out any of it.

Today I have been mending two pairs of jeans for the neighbor kids (28 and 30 yrs. old). The gal's jeans, size 3-4 were a royal pain. The jeans were so small, it was hard to mend the tear just to the right of the tiny zipper. The guy's jeans were much easier even though it was a tear in the back crotch area. More area to work with. I do their clothes because they do things for me on the farm such as climbing up on the large gain bins and opening and closing the lids. I have had both knees and a hip replaced.
Other people have approached and I refer them to a gal who does mending as part of her living. I tell them people that I don't have a industrial type machine for jeans and heavy clothing. I have sewn costumes before, but it has to be for special friends. I much rather quilt.

You hit the nail on the head with this one! Going to look for that design and order it pronto!! I was just asked to take out a zipper on a jacket and replace it. Not my favorite thing, but I always tell them I will try. Today I sewed up a hole in a bag for a leaf blower. Of all things!! The mini vac for the sewing machines got a workout today!
My tote for my mending has a label on it. "Mending. Uuuuggghh!!"
