a Dresden Plate that I did a couple of years ago. I made it into a hotpad. It was one of those what if .....hmm...... moments!!

I scanned this at the time and it cut off the borders on the side.

This is so pretty!!! You say you have an ebook on how to make these? Someone here showed this gorgeous clock that her DH made her that was a Dresden plate.. and I'd love to make something like that.... with your ebook, would I be able to make it that big?

Yes you can make them this size. The template I send out free is for this size Dresden. This was some strip work I had at the time. I just decided to see what it would look like if I alternated the strips from vertical to horizontal. The dresden comes out about 8 1/2" before it is appliqued.

This is not in my book however because the book is on the Dresden Kaleidoscope so all the pieces in my book are Kaleidoscopes instead of Dresden Plates. I use the Dresden shape and fussy cut for the kaleidoscope effect so it is a Dresden Kaleidoscope. It is not my invention I saw it on Simply Quilts but I put my spin on them by using them in projects instead of in a quilt. I also thought every directions I saw online were hard to follow so I wanted to show everyone an easy to follow directions. You can use the same template tho!

You don't have to buy the book to get the template! Just send me your postal address and tell me you want the Kaleidoscope template and I will send you one! I also offer the 1 1/2" template free also so I need to know which or both you want. Thanks!

Thanks everyone! I was always partial to this one. It didn't sell for quite awhile but it did sell eventually.
