I get word that they will be getting a quilt finished in a month or two, and I save a spot in my queue. When it shows up, they need it back asap. It always needs to be sent someplace, sometimes to London like for Simple Shapes Spectacular Quilts, to be photographed for publication.

Quilting for Kaffe and Liza is no more stressful than for any other quiltmaker. I feel the same about every quilt I finish for someone--it's like a sacred trust to have someone give me their precious work. It's a collaborative process that I enjoy.
The only added stress is that I know they are coming but once I get one of Kaffe's quilts, it needs to be out of here really quickly. So I ask for photos before Liza brings me the quilt, so I can make some design decisions ahead of time, mull it over and decide what to do, run my ideas for quilting designs past them before I even have the finished quilt here. It is all about planning.
