    Default Kaffe, Kaffe, Kaffe

And nothing else but Kaffe lol. My on- line order of Kaffe came in from Fabric.com yesterday and then I went to the Sewing Studio and picked up the ones I didn't have. I put all 24 pieces in the washing machine together and put a cup of vinegar in the rinse, just in case. They all came out just fine. I hung them on the line. They were dry in 15 minutes in this 96 degree heat. I pressed all of them and folded and here are some pics. I love the big leaf one, I think they are called caladium? The pieces range from half yards to 2 yard for some. I plan to make a gored pieced, drop waist skirt out of the Kaffe. I started to test it with some left over florals to see how it will hang. These are 5 gores so far. What do you think? The skirt will have 18 gores.

If the skirt looks familiar to you, it's because I am using the left over fabrics from this quilt. lol

Yes, I think those are caladium leaves as well. Lovely fabrics! I love the skirt, have been kind of thinking about making myself a skirt lately.

KF is one of my most favorite fabrics, I love color, can't you tell. You have a great lot there and the skirt is so cute. I love seeing the fabrics people chose.

I bought the last of some Kaffe quilt kits in Paducah about ten years ago. I spent my whole quilt budget on those kits but I knew they would be special to have. Now his older fabrics are collectors items. I sold one of the kits to a Japanese quilter for $600 a year ago via Facebook. It's the price she offered not what I said I would sell it for. Of course I sold one to her!

Beautiful fabrics! To me, they look more like variegated begonia leaves, but what's in a name?

I also have a stash of Kaffe that I will be waiting for the right pattern to make something or somethings! Love his books for inspiration too!

Today, I will be working on my skirt and I am loving it. I did all my cooking yesterday so today is mine! lol. I will post when I get done...and if I like the look then I will start with the Kaffe fabrics. On this skirt I cut the strips at 3 inches but on the kaffe I think I will cut at 2.5 and so end up with 2 ins, don't know yet lol. Then I have another skirt in mind, also a drop waist. This one will be in 3 sections. It will be a 3 ruffle skirt, remember those? They are still in.
