These are great! I love the fabric you chose. It makes really cool patterns and it's SO bright and cheerful. Makes those long winters a little less dreary when you have something happy on the wall.

My quilt guild is doing a one-day retreat at the end of the month on making one of these quilts. I don't have my fabric yet, I'm going shopping next week and hope to find something really neat. Any hints on what size of design works best. I know it needs to be a larger print and that I have to buy so many repeats of the pattern. But, does it work best with lots of contrast between the design and the background?
Can you show us what your original fabric looked like. Good job on what you have done.

I have three fabrics that I have bought to make kaleidoscopes with, let me take pics for you...

I think using a fabric that has three or four strong colour contrasts with a decent size print works best.

Ok, I'm drooling over that daffydil fabric!
Need to get my bib on!

Those blocks are gorgeous! I LOVE them!
Hurry and finish so you can send it to me!
I'll put it on my wall right next to the picture you drew for me. :)

The fabric is from collection "flower of the month club, march daffodils" #2812, by northcott fabrics. I looked quickly online and only saw one place selling it, but I didn't look very hard.
I also bought some of the december fabrics, and some of the april fabrics, they're all so pretty! There is another march fabric left at the store, I think I'll use if for the backing, since it matches. :)

OK, so I've finished all the blocks, and I think I've settled on a placement. I have one left over block.

Anyway, I'm not too sure what to do about borders, though, and I have to figure that out before I sew everything else together, so I'm kind of stalled at this stage of the game. I might have some plain green to add to make it square, but I kind of like the fact that its not square. However, I feel it needs some kind of border to close everything off, not just a narrow binding, KWIM?
I think if I put a 2" border all the way around it might work, but I'm not sure what the best way to go about putting it on might be. *sigh* any ideas you folks could give me would be much appreciated!

the colours here are more accurate, but the picture is grainy since I didn't use the flash... I can't win!

the colours look funny with the flash, it's not quite so yellow in real life
