I love your layout. I can see the movement from light to dark. Beautiful.

I like yours better than the original picture.

I can see the movement, but I understand what you are talking about. I think it is more subtle in yours like a kayak gliding across the water. I like yours much better and love how it goes from light to dark.

I love your blocks!! :D They are
turning out so nice. I am not sure
what to suggest for continuing your
color scheme. I just know whatever
    you chose will be perfect!!

I love it Karla! The main difference in your quilt is that the lights run horizontal and vertical, whereas in the original they run on the diagonal. Those large circles in the original are formed by those diagonal lights. In your quilt the large circles are formed by the darks and darks recede, but I can see them. Your layout, however, reminds me more of the play of light on water than the original would have. How many more squares do you have to do? You go, girl!

Yay! That's what I want you to see, but it's not fair to expect others to see what's in my head. So I'm glad you mentioned that. :D

I was kayaking yesterday morning and saw just the smallest shafts--lines--of light bright green on the bottom from the sun.... I was thinking I should add some, but then decided not to add more colors at this point.

There are 25 done and 24 to go. I haven't been quilting at all for days--I'm getting my classroom ready and it's been way too hot. But--maybe this afternoon and I've reserved tomorrow (going to be stormy) to work on this one and the Triple Irish Chain! :D :D :D

Really pretty! Last year I made a batik hanging of a lake with leaves applique'd. I put the darker HSTs on the bottom to signify the bottom of the lake, but yours looks good either way.
