Tomorrow I get the pins out of my thumb and a hard cast put on. I am hoping to be able to manage putting this top together once I get the hard cast. Most of the blocks came from the 5" swaps over the last few months, the rest from my stash. Before my hand surgery, I cut the orange to size for sashing and borders. It will be for our "surrogate grandson" that is very slow learning. Not sure what the medical term for it is, but I am hoping he will like the bright colours.

That will be beautiful. Very nice for your grandson. Have fun and don't overdo.

Thanks. I am looking forward to getting started on it this weekend. We are supposed to get another snow storm this weekend, so a good time to get stuck inside. LOL

Top is done!! AND my "sew steady" table arrived, so I am anxiously awaiting Feb 16....cast comes off that day. I think it would be wise to have two hands for quilting. LOL

I really like the way that the squares seem to sink down into the orange fabric. Very striking effect!
    Thanks for sharing,

What a great quilt for a child. The colors are very vibrant and will keep his attention.
