What year was your Singer 201 made? I just inherited a 201 from my Aunt, that she purchased new in 1945 or 1945...with all the attachments, in a mahogany and cherry Singer cabinet.....Had to have top of cabinet refinished from water or alcohol that was spilled on it....Machine had not been used in over 20 years, and after drive up to VA from SC, and before I took it to the shop to have new wire, cleaned, greased and oiled, the light still worked and the machine ran so smoothly.....Cannot wait to get cabinet back, machine set back up in it and to start piecing on it!!
