Kitty cat mug rug...the first of 4 to make for friends
#1
Well, not too shabby for my first mug rug though one thing I will not do again is machine stitch the binding. It made things kind of wonky...and I had everything nice and straight before I began.
I did do a simple binding with bringing the backing material to the front...and that was okay...I would just prefer to hand stitch the next one though, I think it will look better that way.
It's 10 x 15...a little larger than I first envisioned it but this at least gives plenty of room for a mug, spoon and maybe even a snack! Used "Warm Tater" 100% natural cotton batting which is thicker than most so that it would protect any table from the heat and moisture of the hot mug. I've got candy in it as this is how I'll be giving it to my prayer group friends. Got little doggy ones to do next. There's only one "cat lover" in this group! lol!
