Good job. You will enjoy this a lot longer then it took you to make it.

I love it. Love large squares.

So I was wondering what would happen to the squares and she talked me into making a krazy quilt. Of course, she flies off to FL for six months so I did not have her by my side, telling me what to do. Once the squares were cut up and I started to sew the blocks, I was amazed at how fast that process was. Then I must have envisioned myself as a quilter because I should have gotten the quilt gene from my mom. Lo and behold, when I pinned the top, batting and backing together, I found out I did not make a square quilt and the backing was two inches bigger than the top, but of course not all the way around. OK, so mom said pin them together, sew, then turn right side out. Simple-NOT for my third quilt, I had pinned it with the batting in the middle, so if I had sewn it, I would have ended up with batting for the top of the quilt. Thank goodness, I did not sew it and repinned it properly. (also batting and backing came up short cuz I found out that being a mathematical genius does not run in our family). So anyway, after two months of doing this quilt (pattern said one day I think) it is done. Kinda wonky, extremely wonky in parts and when I SITD, I could see how off the blocks were! But long story short, Mom is proud and happy to have someone to give her sewing machines and stash to!

I think it looks great. I finished a crazy quilt my MIL started. I didn't inherit any quilting genes - but it was still fun to do.

Dang thing weighed about 15 pounds when I was done because the pieces were all polyester. Add some batting and backing.... It could smother you in your sleep.
