Shula, this is a WDDH and you can't get no better than that. He's got to get the first project completed for that beauty.

    Dawn,
It sews like a dream!! All he had to do was dust it off & put a new belt on it. I am still amazed that he was so lucky to find it. Oh yes, he cleaned & waxed the cabinet, too!!

Oh my heavenly days....THAT is what I learned to sew on when I was a grade schooler. Made my first blouse with a Peter Pan collar on that machine. My mom made all my clothes on a treadle. I would LOVE to have one too. Great for when the power goes out. ENJOY ENJOY! You have a great guy who bought this for you.

I am so happy for you! You will love it to pieces and have a ball sewing on it! It is so beautiful and clean and pretty! When my MIL passed away I asked for her sewing machine that no one wanted. It was a 1935 Singer treadle too! I was over the moon when DH brought it home. She made all four of her kids clothes on it for years and years. She never had an electric machine that I know of. I wish I could ask her why. DH says he remembers being on the floor and getting his finger caught in the foot pedal. Memories like that just mean so much. So in her honor I work on a flannel quilt every winter on her machine. I don't finish it, I save it over from one year to the next and keep adding to it. If I ever finish it, I will post a picture for sure. I know you will have a blast playing your little heart out on your wonderful new toy.

What a great find ($$$) and what a beauty, both machine & cabinet! Thanks for sharing your excitement and your photos. I think it's great! My Singer treadle needs a new belt and the cabinet refinished, but I will leave those needs for my oldest daughter to handle when she inherits the machine.
