    Default La Bamba baby quilt

This is a quilt that will be given tonight at a baby shower. After that mommy-to-be told me that her colors for the nursery were teal, lime green and burlap with a touch of red, I remembered the leftover layer cake and charms I had in the "Mischief" fabric line that had all those colors and more. The "burlap" is tea dyed fabric from PB&J, called Grunge Creamy. After I had the top made, I decided that the red was too pronounced (she did say just a touch of red), so I added the extra wide turquoise rickrack. Now that it is all done, I think I should add lime green pom-pom trim and call it "La Bamba" Hope she likes it!!!

I think you nailed it especially with the rick rack!

It is great. Did you cut your block rows and add the tea dyed burlap strips or just lay them over your blocks? As Cyn said, "I think you nailed it"!!!

beautiful quilt, so perfectly modern! A baby dressed in lime green or a lime green stuffed animal laying on the quilt is all the spark that is needed to this "la bamba" quilt.

I cut the border, made of charm squares, and added the "burlap" strips, which of course is not burlap but regular quilter's cotton tea dyed to look like burlap.
