    Default Lake and Sea Panels

I loved the idea of stacking 8 panels for a kaleidoscope quilt, so when I spotted this panel, I ordered 9. I don't usually buy flowers, and didn't realize how prevalent they would be. I put the 9th panel on the back-loved that idea! And the "bindings" thread inspired my binding of sewing the scraps together. I will be doing that again! My new FMQ skills are coming along. I used marker to make the stitch lines; spirals on the circle blocks, and curls on the square blocks. I was so nervous to start the quilting, but once I did, it went smoothly. About halfway through, I realized in a panic that I hadn't even checked the backside! No worries!

What a fun pattern! It turned out wonderful. I like your binding, too. Great job.

I love your quilt and the back panel is beautiful also.
Where did you find the panels? I'd like to try a kaleidoscope quilt.
I've never made one but yours has inspired me to try.

Thank you! I don't remember where I ordered the panels. They have been waiting their turn for a bit. Possibly Equilters or Hancocks.

I'm wondering how you got all the lovely blue in your quilt top. It's not part of the panel that I can tell. But I love it in the quilt top! I've only done these with yardage but you have inspired me to look at panels in a new light.

I love that you included the panel on the back - I would spend hours flipping the quilt over and over just admiring how each of the kaleidoscope blocks were built from that one panel.
