Now, that i've gone thru all the comments I would love to try this technique. I've got a lot of pictures from vacation to Widbey Island in Washington and I would love to use one of them.

thank you guys for drigging this forward again

I think those can be worked well if you find the right prints, it is all in the fabric choices, though several can probably work, I would love to see you try one or more of them. I get a lot of ideas just looking at the beautiful pictures.

I am not sure how brave you need to be, but being a little on the cracked side sure helps.

    Look what I found!!!! <wave>
So, did the Whidby Island quilt come to be?
And, CB! Isn't this the quilt that you gave niece for Christmas and she knew IMMEDIATELY what it was all about?
So nice to visit old friends, eh? And, I didn't have much to do with anything, but I will take the thank you with the happy faces on it 8-)

My Mom held it up and she saw right away that it was a landscape, how cool is that, she hasn't seen the picture that started it all,

Not getting the Whidby Island quilt comment but that doesn't surprise me, I have a short some where and it creates havoc with what I can pull up at any given time,
