Is that free handed or a computer program design on the feather and cross hatch. Love it either way.

Valerie - you did such graceful and beautiful work that I cannot thank you enough. You made my Lil' twister quilt Sing!
The cross hatched feathers you are working on now are stunning too!

Quiltingfever, Valerie's work on the Twister is freehand - can you imagine?!
I'd like to know too - Valerie did you do your feathers and crosshatch freehand as well?
I wanted to let you know that we had family over for Easter and everyone was agog over your work Valerie. No one can wrap their mind around how you can achieve quilting that flows so beautifully and swirls along, without it coming out wonky and uneven somewhere. We'd all get lost or back ourselves into a corner. Everyone was most impressed!
KSellers, if it was the Twister quilt that you wanted to know about, yes, it is made from a fabric collection: Basic Grey's Sweet Serenade, for Moda. It might be difficult to find now, as it came out last year. Maybe you can find some through an Internet search.

I have come to realize that quilting is a art form. Your quilting is that and more. Thanks for sharing it with us.

I am thrilled to hear such great feedback Lara! You make me feel like a million bucks!!

Yes all of my quilting is free hand! I do use pantographs on occasion but that is not the case here - the curved cross hatch and feathers are all free hand! I used an arc ruler to mark the grids and help me map out the design and I marked the lines with disappearing ink. I do not mark my feathers, just draw a line where I want the spine to be.

    Thank you all!!
