No, I didn't have a pattern for the quilt. I saw one at a quilt show and liked it very much. So, I decided that I wanted to use full size pictures and sketched it on graph paper. I cut the photos to 8 1/2" x 10 1/2" to match what I had sketched. I used 1" black and white fabric and cut it 1 1 /2" crosswise. I cut 1 1 /2" black strips to make the film edge., 2" sashing between pictures. Then I just laid the film strip across, marked it and cut the background 1/2" larger and stitched the film strip on.

It did require a little adjusting where the film crossed but all in all, it wasn't that difficult. I think my great nephew will like it.

And, thank you all for your kind comments. I don't get to share my quilts with anyone during the summer.... we summer in the middle of a federal forest..... no neighbors around this year... just bears.

How clever you are to set the pictures to look like a film strip. Sweet quilt with lots of sentiment.
