The latest baby quilt
This is my go-to pattern for baby quilts. I can get it cut, sewn, quilted, bound, and washed in 2 days without working hard. I have started adding the appliqué name for personalization which does add a bit of time, but I like the result. This is my first time with raw edge appliqué though, and I worried about it. End result seems solid though. The colors don’t come through well. It is actually a nice turquoise and green coordinating with the rather astro print. Quilted with Floriani embroidery thread for gloss with a big blue meander in most of the quilt and green free form wavy lines and some echo quilting in the appliqué section. Binding applied by machine with a serpentine stitch.

Cant get much easier than a 4 patch and squares! And it lets me look for lovely focus fabric. I make these as 6” squares, but they can be any size you want. The pattern originally came as part of a Quilt for Kids kit, though they use borders differently. I just have to figure out how to do the appliqué easier.

Love your baby quilt and easy pattern. It would be a great stash buster for me. I love doing applique and use Heat 'n' Bond Lite, iron on and then a buttonhole stitch to apply. Easy peasy and have had no issue with fraying. Good luck on your next and next.
