    Thank you everyone..... I've posted a new thread with the shaded belly plus I've finished the center sections of the 4 borders now, too. So much more to do but I'm at a stopping place and will go do some other things that need to get done. Then, it's back to block #18 and more border work.

    Your block is absolutely beautiful. You also might want to look at a red poll bird. They have a reddish shading which would compliment the berries. Either bird has some shading.

    Shading would be nice, but it is lovely even as it is. Your skills blow me away. I quilt and have been for yeas, but do not have skills or courage to try that. Love applique, but my skills are no where that good.
