They are both beautiful. I really love the leggo one...that was one of my favorite toys when I was a child (that and Lincoln logs) and that my dear was many, many years ago and they are still as popular today as way back then...

Happy to share the information with everyone. I used the information from Moda Bake Shop's Blockhead Baby Quilt as a go-by and modified it to suit what I wanted to do for my DGS. I used a lot of scrap fabric from other projects to make it not quite as "babyish" as just solids looked to me. I found that I had to place each brick as I made them and make adjustments the sashing accordingly. The outside border is a hand-printed Kona I found on Etsy, through a recommendation from our members on QB. Worked perfectly for me.

Thanks to all for the nice compliments. I can't wait to give the quilt to him! Happy Holidays! :^)

Thanks for the explanation! I'm definitely saving this in my "ideas" file and something I want to do soon...like in 2015 and not just "someday".

I love your Lego quilt and would like to make one for my 5 year old grandson. Would you let me know where I can get the pattern?

My kids played with Legos (as most kids do/did) and we still have a few in a bag. I actually liked playing myself so I enjoyed looking at your quilt. I can envision some variations with more of the variety of pieces included. It could get pretty complicated!!

PS: Your backer is truly inspired.

Your lego quilt is adorable and I especially love the border fabric. How appropriate that is and love the little block on the back-so cute. Really love your Christmas quilt you made for your friend. I am sure she will really treasure it.
